Clockwork.jpgClockworks were created as servants, warriors, and bodyguards, first by the Esaran artificers during the great wars which plagued that continent over the last age. The Great Academy in Shien as well as the blue-tongued, eunuch mages of the Pharaoh in Vhahl have since discovered their own means of crafting these servants. Strangely, some quirk of magic involved in their creation renders some of these beings wholly sentient and independent of will, whether by god or mishap, and these rare exceptions are the stock that may be chosen as a PC character race.

As a clockwork, you have the following racial traits.

Ability Score Increase. Your Strength and Constitution scores increase by 2.
Class Limitations. Clockworks have no spiritual connection to the gods, and their nature denies them access to arcane channeling. As a clockwork, you may only choose to play the following classes: Barbarian (berserker), Fighter (champion, battlemaster), Rogue (thief, assassin), Monk (open hand).
Size. Clockworks generally resemble humanoids. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Metal Construct. Your construction incorporates rare woods and metal plating, gears, and pistons, granting you a +1 bonus to Armor Class.
Living Construct. Even though you were constructed, you are a living creature. You are immune to disease. You do not need to eat or breathe, but you can ingest food and drink if you wish. Instead of sleeping, you enter an inactive state for 4 hours each day. You do not dream in this state; you are fully aware of your surroundings and notice approaching enemies and other events as normal. You are resistant to non-magical slashing, piercing, and bludgeoning damage, but healing magics are reduced by half when cast on you. Artificers (wizards) with the proper spells can repair (heal) you normally.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common, the language of your creator, and one other language of your choice.
